Hi Lab,

You've been getting a lot of messages from me lately. I hope you
haven't added me to your spam filter yet. If you are no longer actively
using our system, you can request to be removed from the
users at autonlab.org email list by replying to this email.

This mail is about some major changes to the way we access the compute
cycle servers. Beginning in February, the public IP addresses will be
removed from most of the compute machines. This means that you will no
longer be able to directly access, say, los1.auton.cs.cmu.edu.

Beginning February, the new way of accessing the compute machines will
be to first ssh into cpu.autonlab.org. This will connect you to one of
two head nodes from which you will then connect to the node of your
choice. In the works, is a comprehensive real time status command which
you can run on the head node to get all of the up to the minute info
about all nodes. This feature will be much better than, and should
obsolete the current status page.

Usage guidelines for the new system are forthcoming and will be posted
to the Intranet.

Mike
