Subject: [auton-users] change needed for remote ssh access to CVS

If you have a machine that has CVSROOT set to use LIKE or LEND for 
remote access to the CVS repository
(as described on the intranet:
http://www.autonlab.org/intranet/intranet/cvs.html#remote)

You need to update CVSROOT to use LOP1 instead.  LIKE and LEND will soon
be moved behind a router and won't be directly accessible to outside
machines.

STEPS
1. edit your .bashrc and change the CVSROOT variable to use lop1
2. source ~/.bashrc
3. cd h
4. ./smallbutuseful/change_cvsroot.pl -r

The last step updates the 'Root' file in each project's 'CVS' subdir to
reflect the new value of CVSROOT.

Fellow Autonians,

There will be a brief outage of services in the Auton Lab while we 
perform a kernel upgrade.  This upgrade will commence between the hours 
of 7:00 - 9:00 AM EDT, on Saturday October 1st. 

As a result, I would like to ask that you do not start any new processes 
on the compute machines this evening.

Services that will be unavailable are listed as follows:

        * All logins using NIS
        * All BigPapa (and BigPapa home directory) access
        * Compute Machines (LOPs, etc).  Any jobs that are running at
          the time of the upgrade will hang or die.

You will receive another notice after the upgrade is complete.
