Please let me know if you have a machine preference. -Paul Komarek From agray at cs.cmu.edu Thu Jan 13 20:24:46 2005 From: agray at cs.cmu.edu (agray at cs.cmu.edu) Date: Thu, 13 Jan 2005 20:24:46 -0500 Subject: [auton-users] spam solutions Message-ID: Sorry for the spam (ahem), but... Spam is really starting to make me angry. It is getting to the point where I am afraid to click on emails or anything inside them. I've asked a few of you before, but before I go with a solution, does anyone have strong recommendations or anti-recommendations on spam solutions, commercial or otherwise? thanks, Alex From dpelleg+ at cs.cmu.edu Thu Jan 13 20:52:05 2005 From: dpelleg+ at cs.cmu.edu (Dan Pelleg) Date: Thu, 13 Jan 2005 20:52:05 -0500 Subject: [auton-users] spam solutions In-Reply-To: <20050114012642.C24F255A91@atoz.libagent.org> References: <20050114012642.C24F255A91@atoz.libagent.org> Message-ID: <16871.9669.254398.912524@gargle.gargle.HOWL> agray at cs.cmu.edu writes: > Sorry for the spam (ahem), but... > > Spam is really starting to make me angry. I *think* you need to explicitly have it turned on, and you might need to have your account moved to the IMAP server (from the uxN server, if you've been here long enough to have been assigned to one of those). But that's not a bad move in itself (it also has a webmail interface, among other things). I don't know more about the specifics, but dig around at: http://www-2.cs.cmu.edu/~help/ As far as I know, the Andrew servers also offer the same features. Given that the tasks are low priority, I plan on using only the "unused" cycles to compute them. To facilitate this, I have created a script that automatically adds new jobs to the lops whenever they are idle. If others add new jobs to the condor queue, I expect that there will be about a 2min wait while my jobs finish up, and then the whatever lops are necessary will work on the new jobs, without interference from my stuff. Please feel free to run whatever, whenever, without worrying about my jobs. Also, if this system isn't working for you, please let me know. -Brent From komarek at cmu.edu Mon Jan 24 12:22:43 2005 From: komarek at cmu.edu (Paul Komarek) Date: Mon, 24 Jan 2005 12:22:43 -0500 Subject: [auton-users] Condor Lop Usage In-Reply-To: References: Message-ID: <41F52EE3.5050100@cmu.edu> To clarify: This email applies to the condor-ized lops, that is, the lops available through the "condor" batch submission system. This system is still in testing, but everyone is welcome to use it and encouraged to try it. For more information, see http://www.autonlab.org/intranet/intranet/condor.html Note that you'll need to logon to the intranet.
