I have corrected like and lark, but I don't have permission to change the rest. Sometimes this is because I am not able to login as root or komarek.root. For lime and logo, I can confirm that those machines have a very sick automount daemon that can (probably) only be fixed by a reboot. FWIW, like and lark also have sick automount daemons, but I was able to kill them (unlike lime and logo). On those machines I mounted NFS without automount and it worked fine. I do not have control over people's desktops. Many of them are facilitized, which provides extra challenges for my understanding of how they work. I will do what I can to help, but I may not be able to do much. If you control lime, logo, loom or loco, you may want to reboot and see if things work. If they do not work, and you would like me to fix them the way I did like and lark, feel free to contact me at email: komarek at cmu.edu mobile: 412.983.1284 home: 412.571.1284 IRC: irc.freenode.net, #auton AIM: scaleusrubberdog Final note -- if like or lark are rebooted, some changes will be necessary. Please call me for those changes. -Paul Komarek From komarek at cmu.edu Mon Feb 2 12:46:04 2004 From: komarek at cmu.edu (Paul Komarek) Date: Mon, 02 Feb 2004 12:46:04 -0500 Subject: [auton-users] NFS on desktops Message-ID: <1075743963.23862.329.camel@localhost> Hello, logo, lime, lark and like have bigpapa access. Hey all, I now have a way to make automounts work, and am deploying it on desktops. if I missed yours, let me know and after I'm done, BigPapa will be automounted/unmounted again. -- Pat Gunn Research/Systems Programmer, Auton Group, CMU From komarek at cmu.edu Tue Feb 3 14:01:07 2004 From: komarek at cmu.edu (Paul Komarek) Date: Tue, 03 Feb 2004 14:01:07 -0500 Subject: [auton-users] lop3 reservation for anya Message-ID: <1075834867.20096.22.camel@localhost> Hello, Anya has released her lop3 reservation. -Paul From jmjoseph at andrew.cmu.edu Wed Feb 4 00:28:44 2004 From: jmjoseph at andrew.cmu.edu (Jacob Joseph) Date: Wed, 04 Feb 2004 00:28:44 -0500 Subject: [auton-users] Loki? We should also have two new super-lops with 8GB of ram.
