The new location has better air conditioning and power than the current location, NSH A432. We cannot yet specify the time the move will start. Hopefully this will be made clear later today (Thursday). It is possible that we will not be back online until Monday, but we do not expect this rearrangement to take that long. An email will be sent when the lab is ready for business again. Our thanks to everyone for being patient while we have sorted out the air conditioning disasters this semester. -Paul Komarek From jmjoseph at andrew.cmu.edu Fri Apr 2 11:08:52 2004 From: jmjoseph at andrew.cmu.edu (Jacob Joseph) Date: Fri, 02 Apr 2004 11:08:52 -0500 Subject: [auton-users] Auton Computers are moving In-Reply-To: <1080806960.12208.981.camel@localhost> References: <1080806960.12208.981.camel@localhost> Message-ID: <406D9014.5090902@andrew.cmu.edu> It's looking like the downtime will start early this afternoon, as in within 2-3 hours. I expect the outage will last only through today, but if the machines remain empty, we may take the opportunity to perform further maintenance. You might have noticed yesterday evening, but I've now done enough testing to say that the lab is in fact in good order. Total real downtime, including the website was only about 8 hours. Perhaps we'll get some pictures of the move up soon :) Happy Computing! -Jacob, Paul, & Jeanie From komarek at cmu.edu Wed Apr 7 16:13:55 2004 From: komarek at cmu.edu (Paul Komarek) Date: Wed, 07 Apr 2004 16:13:55 -0400 Subject: [auton-users] Two Auton thesis defenses next week Message-ID: <1081368835.7094.54.camel@localhost> *-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*- Dan Pelleg: Scalable and Practical Probability Density Estimators for Scientific Anomaly Detection Time: Tue. There will probably be a brief reboot and AFS outage as I update the kernel, probably around noon, Saturday. -Jacob
