Here's my stab at it, in amd.conf, changed map_options to:
map_options = opts:=proto=tcp,nfsvers=3,nfs_retry_interfal=.5,nfs_retransmit_counter=50,cache_duration=3000

If it keeps misbehaving, we can try turning on some of AMD's debug options..
I made this change on liam and lime.
