Dear Autonians,
If you had anything to do with MIMIC II data, please could
you send me a line or two about that (what you did and
accomplished, adding references to publications if available).
I've just learned that we have an opportunity to help keeping
MIMIC alive.
I will appreciate your responses by or before Saturday
.
I will assemble them into an official letter and send it over
to the requestors on Sunday.
Thanks
Artur

Subject: Please support MIMIC II
August 13, 2012
Dear colleague,
We hope that you are finding the MIMIC II Database to be a useful
resource for your research. Thank you for your interest in it, and for
being a part of the MIMIC II community.
The development and maintenance of the database requires significant
support, which has been provided by the NIH throughout the project. Our
current funding ends in June 2013, and we are now preparing a new NIH
proposal to support further development and maintenance of the MIMIC II
Database resource.
We are seeking short letters that document how the MIMIC II Database
supports a broad range of research across the community. These letters
can help us to make the best possible case to the NIH to invest in
keeping the MIMIC II Database available and making it even better in
support of future research. Will you help?
If we receive your letter by Monday, September 10, 2012, we will be able
to include it in our grant application. Please tell us in a paragraph
or two how MIMIC II has been helpful to you or your organization. If
you or your colleagues have used MIMIC II in a published study, please
include a citation of your publication(s). If you can, please prepare
your letter using your letterhead and send it as a PDF email attachment
to me (rgmark.edu), with a copy to Ken Pierce (kpierce.edu). Otherwise,
we would be happy to receive a plain email statement.
Thanks very much for your consideration!
Sincerely,
Roger Mark
