See: http://clopinet.com/al You don't need any prior experience with active learning to enter but you might learn about it if you do. It is a problem a lot harder than it looks and solving it would have impact in many applications in biology, medicine, pattern recognition, marketing, web mining, etc. Aside having lots of fun, you will have the opportunity to go to 2 workshops in Spain and Italy and publish in IEEE proceedings and JMLR. You may win 3200 USD in prizes and earn travel awards to go to the workshops.
