Job Title: Senior Software Developer
Description: Cycorp, a leader in AI research and development of AI-based
applications, has an immediate opening for a Senior Application Software
Developer to help us bring intelligent applications into widespread use.
This position requires a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree (though a Master's
Degree is preferred) in Computer Science, Information Technology, or other
related field, and at least 5 years experience in commercial software
development.

Skills required:
Proven track record in leadership roles within software development teams in
the design, development, and deployment of modern client/server
applications. Experience in user-centered design and extreme development,
including responsive requirements analysis, design, coding and unit testing
in Linux and Windows environment. Experience with state-of-the-art Source
Code Management tools and configuration management best practices.
Experience developing and managing web services and Web 2.0 interfaces.
Experience in large scale software development using Java. A history of
being part of a team that has shipped successful commercial applications
with substantial user communities. Strong technical skills with some of the
following in addition: AJAX, Ruby, JSON, Swing, SwingX, SQL, Information
Retrieval (e.g. Lucene), SPARQL, XML, .NET, C#, ASP, SQL Server, Oracle,
SOAP.

Additional skills and qualities desired:
Interest and some educational background in machine learning, artificial
intelligence, logic, user interaction design and/or visualization are a
plus. Strong written communication skills are a plus. A history of working
in a mixed research and development environment is a plus but not required.

Job description: Contribute in a leadership role to the development and
deployment of great-looking, highly-usable applications of AI technology.
Enhance current software development and deployment methodologies to reduce
overall cost and time to delivery of software products, public-facing Web
2.0 applications and web services offerings. Adapt current Q/A practices to
improve software reliability and reduce maintenance costs. Support the
smooth transition of software from R&D though production and deployment.
