From db30 at andrew.cmu.edu Fri Jul 15 11:59:05 2016 From: db30 at andrew.cmu.edu (db30 at andrew.cmu.edu) Date: Fri, 15 Jul 2016 11:59:05 -0400 Subject: [ACT-R-users] New ACT-R software release available Message-ID: A new version of the ACT-R 7 software is now available from the ACT-R website: . The current version is now 7.0.11-<2054:2016-07-15>. The primary reason for this release is because a bug was found in the previous release with the perceptual history tools. The audicon and visicon information was always being recorded, even if the parameters indicating to do so were turned off (the default values are off). That could increase the time needed to run models which have lots of perceptual features significantly. This version no longer contains that bug. Another change with this version is that the AGI has been extended to provide separate creation and modification actions for the text, button, and line items for the experiment windows. You can check the commit log at for notes on these changes and to find information on other changes since the last release. If you have any questions or problems with the new version please let me know. Dan From cl at cmu.edu Tue Jul 19 10:59:07 2016 From: cl at cmu.edu (Christian Lebiere) Date: Tue, 19 Jul 2016 10:59:07 -0400 Subject: [ACT-R-users] 2016 ACT-R PGSS Message-ID: As previously announced, the 2016 ACT-R Post Graduate Summer School will take place from August 7 to 9, 2016 at the Cork Factory Hotel in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. A nearly final program and schedule is now available on the ACT-R web site. Let me know if you catch any error or omission. If you are planning to attend, *please register here as soon as possible*, definitely before July 31 when we need to give the hotel a final headcount. If for whatever reason (e.g., bureaucratic) you cannot register at this time, send me email letting me know of your plans. Unlike the typical ACT-R Workshops that primarily consist of research talks, the Post Graduate Summer School is meant to be a deeper and more interactive meeting, with thorough discussions of key architectural issues. Sessions are 2 to 2.5 hours in length, with time about evenly divided between presentations and discussions. Session chairs will frame the issues of the session, introduce the presentations, and lead the following discussion. Feel free to contact any session chair if there is any issue that you would like adressed in a specific session. Thank you, and looking forward to seeing you in Lancaster. You can still get a room at the discounted rate now but they cannot guarantee availability any longer. Please book your room as soon as possible if you haven't already done so.
