Join our Center for Neural and Emergent Systems in beautiful Malibu,
California. (http://www.hrl.com/laboratories/cnes/cnes_main.html) We are
looking for postdocs and interns.
***SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: MUST BE A U.S. PERSON
· Education Desired: PhD in Computational Neuroscience, Cognitive
Psychology or related field, or Computer Science / Electrical Engineering
with solid exposure to brain function and neural processing.
· Essential Job Functions: Study, develop, and implement computational
models of brain regions, and integrate regions together to model
cognition.Other tasks will include the development, simulation, evaluation,
and implementation of neuromorphic algorithms for a variety of applications.
· Experience: Research experience in the following areas: building
neuro-inspired cognitive systems using neural network modeling,
neurobiological modeling of cognition, sensory processing, motor control,
machine learning.
· Knowledge Required: Background in neural networks, brain modeling and
simulation, computational neuroscience, systems neuroscience; strong
programming skills, proficient with C, C++, JAVA, and/or Matlab. Highly
desired: Proficiency with Emergent neural network simulation system, ACT-R,
and lisp; skills in parallel computing.
· Essential Physical/ Mental Requirements: Good communication (verbal and
written) skills, ability to independently perform research and modeling, and
active participation in R & D team activities.
