Hi everyone: Attached is a new article that appears in the upcoming
issue of Trends in Cognitive Science:
Lewis, R. L., Vasishth, S. and Van Dyke, J. A. (2006) Computational
principles of working memory in sentence comprehension. Trends in
Cognitive Science, 10: 447-454.
This article provides an overview of the theory of sentence
processing (mostly syntactic parsing at this point) we have been
developing that is grounded in ACT-R, and the relevant cross-
linguistic empirical phenomena. It is a kind of companion article to
the more detailed account of the model in the 2005 Cognitive Science
journal article, but both less detailed and broader in scope.
The PDF also includes the front cover of the issue, which has a
picture of me contemplating my inbox.
cheers,
Rick
