COGNITIVE PSYCHOLOGY. The Department of Psychology at Mississippi State
University is seeking outstanding candidates for a tenure track or tenured
appointment at the level of associate or full professor, effective August
16, 2004. The successful candidate is expected to provide high-quality
teaching at the undergraduate level and in the interdisciplinary Ph.D.
program in Cognitive Science, and expected to maintain a high-quality,
active research program. Applications representing any sub-specialization
in cognitive science, broadly defined, are welcome. We are particularly
interested in applicants with research programs that advance cognitive
theory in the context of real-world problems, and that complement program
strengths in complex problem solving, visual attention, cognitive aging,
human performance, computational cognitive modeling, cognitive
engineering, training, and human-computer interaction. Additional
information on the Cognitive Science Program at Mississippi State is
available at http://www.psychology.msstate.edu. Review of applications
will begin November 30, and will continue until the position is filled.  
Applications should include a curriculum vitae, a description of research
and teaching interests, measures of teaching effectiveness, if available,
and selected reprints to be sent to: Dr. Stephanie M. Doane, Chair,

least three letters of recommendation sent to the same address.
