A beta version of ACT-R 4.0 is available on the ACT-R web site at:

http://act.psy.cmu.edu

This is essentially the version that was presented at the summer school
and discussed at the workshop, with one or two improvements. It is
available as a Mac archive, and plain text files for Unix and Windows
platforms. It consists of:

ACT-R 4.0b2: the code, which should be fully Common Lisp compliant.
Load ACT-R 4.0b2: a compiled version for MCL 4.0, ready to load.
Note: you should always compile the code.
Examples: a directory of very basic models.
Manual: the manual, in MS Word 5.1 format.
Changes: a log of the main changes between ACT-R 3.0 and ACT-R 4.0.
Note: It only lists the main changes and is NOT exhaustive.
Notes (b2): a short description of the changes since the workshop.

In general, neither the manual not the changes files is a kind and
gentle introduction to ACT-R 4.0. Users who are not already familiar
with ACT-R 4.0 through the summer school, the workshop or some other
source and who do not need its new features may want to stay away from
it until the publication next summer of the book describing it.

This is a fairly stable beta version. Please send me your feedback,
suggestions, corrections, bug reports and other desiderata at
cl+ at cmu.edu.

Christian
