<div dir="ltr"><div dir="ltr"><div class="gmail_quote"><div dir="ltr"><div class="gmail_quote"><div dir="ltr"><p style="box-sizing:border-box;margin:0px 0px 10px;color:rgb(51,51,51);font-family:Roboto,sans-serif;font-size:15px">Hi all,</p><p style="box-sizing:border-box;margin:0px 0px 10px;color:rgb(51,51,51);font-family:Roboto,sans-serif;font-size:15px">We invite proposals for Tutorials at the 42nd Conference on Uncertainty in Artificial Intelligence (UAI 2026). UAI 2026 will take place in Amsterdam, Netherlands from August 17th to August 21st, 2026. Tutorials will be held in person on August 17th, 2026.</p><p style="box-sizing:border-box;margin:0px 0px 10px;color:rgb(51,51,51);font-family:Roboto,sans-serif;font-size:15px">Tutorial proposals should be submitted by <s style="box-sizing:border-box">April 30th</s> <span style="box-sizing:border-box;font-weight:700">May 8th, 2026</span> EoD AoE, via the <a href="https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdsXPrVbTMnPfh93egY6lbiFbCVk31qlemB32hdceAdhstfQA/viewform?usp=header" style="box-sizing:border-box;background-color:transparent;color:rgb(51,122,183);text-decoration:none" target="_blank">linked form</a>.</p><p style="box-sizing:border-box;margin:0px 0px 10px;color:rgb(51,51,51);font-family:Roboto,sans-serif;font-size:15px">Tutorials will be <span style="box-sizing:border-box;font-weight:700">in-person</span> and have a duration of either 1.5 (short) or <span style="box-sizing:border-box;font-weight:700">3 hours</span> (long), including time for questions. Each <span style="box-sizing:border-box;font-weight:700">short tutorial can be done by at most two presenters and long ones can have at most three presenters</span>. Tutorials should be tailored to the broader UAI audience and as such be accessible, while providing sufficient rigor and technical depth.</p><p style="box-sizing:border-box;margin:0px 0px 10px;color:rgb(51,51,51);font-family:Roboto,sans-serif;font-size:15px">Tutorial proposals should be no more than <span style="box-sizing:border-box;font-weight:700">3 pages</span> (excluding references), submitted in PDF format and should include the following:</p><ol style="box-sizing:border-box;margin-top:0px;margin-bottom:10px;color:rgb(51,51,51);font-family:Roboto,sans-serif;font-size:15px"><li style="box-sizing:border-box"><span style="box-sizing:border-box;font-weight:700">Title and abstract</span></li><li style="box-sizing:border-box"><span style="box-sizing:border-box;font-weight:700">Duration:</span> 1.5 hrs or 3 hrs.</li><li style="box-sizing:border-box"><span style="box-sizing:border-box;font-weight:700">Description and outline:</span> What will the tutorial be about? What material will the tutorial cover and in what depth? Please provide a detailed outline of the topics to be presented, including estimates for the time that will be devoted to each subject. You may also indicate if you plan to have any practical, hands-on components. In case of multiple presenters, specify how you will distribute the work.</li><li style="box-sizing:border-box"><span style="box-sizing:border-box;font-weight:700">Goals:</span> What are the objectives and the expected learning outcomes of the tutorial? What is the benefit to attendees?</li><li style="box-sizing:border-box"><span style="box-sizing:border-box;font-weight:700">Target audience:</span> From which areas do you expect potential participants to come? What prior knowledge do you expect from the audience?</li><li style="box-sizing:border-box"><span style="box-sizing:border-box;font-weight:700">Presenters:</span> Please include the name, e-mail address, institution and webpage (if relevant) of all presenters, and describe the presenters' expertise in the tutorial area. Optional but helpful: Emphasize teaching or other tutorial experience, and/or include links to past presentations. We especially encourage proposals from groups that represent the diversity in our community. Note that tutorials will be in-person, and presenters must commit to attending UAI.</li></ol><p style="box-sizing:border-box;margin:0px 0px 10px;color:rgb(51,51,51);font-family:Roboto,sans-serif;font-size:15px"><span style="box-sizing:border-box;font-weight:700">Reviewing and notification:</span> Tutorial proposals will be reviewed and selected by the UAI 2026 Tutorial Chairs based on relevance and timeliness of the proposed topics, clarity of presentation, expected impact on the community, experience of the presenters and balance across topics and presenters. Notification of acceptance will be issued on the 21st of May.</p><p style="box-sizing:border-box;margin:0px 0px 10px;color:rgb(51,51,51);font-family:Roboto,sans-serif;font-size:15px">Tutorial Chairs, UAI 2026<br style="box-sizing:border-box">Antonio Vergari and Julius von Kügelgen<br style="box-sizing:border-box"><a href="mailto:uai2026chairs%2Btutorial@gmail.com" target="_blank">uai2026chairs+tutorial@gmail.com</a></p></div>
