The UCSF Department of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery is seeking one or more visionary neuroscientists or biomedical scientists to join, or lead, the Saul and Ida Epstein Laboratory for Auditory Physiology and Genetics and/or the John C. and Edward
Coleman Memorial Laboratories. These full-time faculty positions are open to candidates of all levels (assistant to full), and we encourage outstanding candidates who are partway through their postdoctoral research training to apply, even if their main findings
are not yet published. The successful candidates will be expected to establish a dynamic, externally funded, and interactive research program, to join one of our top-ranked interdisciplinary graduate programs (see

The laboratory space for these positions will be located either within the Epstein laboratory (Parnassus campus) or the Coleman laboratory (Mission Bay), depending on the needs of the applicant(s) and fit with surrounding research programs. The Epstein and
Coleman Laboratories are endowed Regents Laboratories within the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at UCSF. Historically, the Epstein lab has focused on basic and applied research for the treatment of deafness, particularly related to cochlear
implantation, cochlear physiology, tissue engineering, and genetic therapies, while the Coleman lab has focused on central auditory processing and plasticity. Both laboratories house multiple PIs devoted to hearing science.</div>
