throughout the Life Cycle in the Context of Condition Monitoring

LOCATION: Bielefeld Campus |
Aerzen, Germany

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

With more than 10,000 students, **Hochschule Bielefeld –
University of Applied Sciences and Arts (HSBI)** stands for
highest standards in teaching, research and knowledge transfer.
Its six faculties Design and Art, Minden Campus, Engineering and
Mathematics, Social Sciences, Bielefeld School of Business and
Health work in an interdisciplinary, research-based and closely
linked manner. Regional and international cooperation as well as
practised diversity and sustainability shape the work at the
campuses in Bielefeld, Minden and Gütersloh.

As part of the **“Career@BI”** project, in cooperation with
**Lenze SE**, the Faculty of Engineering and Mathematics seeks
to fill a tandem position as

*** Post Doc for Sustainable, Reliable and Robust AI throughout
the Life Cycle in the Context of Condition Monitoring ***

to start immediately. Employment at HSBI will be as a lecturer
for special assignments with the aim of enhancing your profile
and qualifying for professorship at a university of applied
sciences. As part of the employment, you will gain practical
professional experience in the university context and get to
know the diverse tasks of university routines. Accompanied by
your mentor, you will add to your teaching and research
experience, take part in qualification offers and thus enhance
your profile for appointability as a professor at a university
of applied sciences.

As part of your employment at Lenze SE, you will gain practical
experience outside HSBI. You will be part of an
interdisciplinary team in pre-development/corporate research and
develop AI-supported solutions for condition monitoring of
machines and processes. In particular, the aim is to ensure that
these solutions are robust, practical and suitable for long-term
use. Using methods such as transfer learning, domain adaptation,
drift detection and (data and knowledge-driven) hybrid
modelling, you will design and implement workflows for machine
learning with which this aim can be achieved.

To collect data and validate the developed procedures, you will
work on real machines and processes.

As part of your employment with HSBI, you will be assigned to
the cooperation partner for 10 hours per week. The employment
will be 74.9% with HSBI and 25.1% with Lenze SE, with a majority
of working hours spent at one of the locations in Bielefeld or –
preferably – Aerzen. By agreement and depending on project
