underlying research theme in the lab is the search for optimal principles of information representation and processing in the brain that underpin the flexibility of animal behavior. A range of approaches are used, including methods from statistical physics,
information theory and dynamical systems.</span><br>

research. This includes a strong interest in computational neuroscience (see </span>

School in the Department of Neuroscience and the Institute for Informatics, and expects to develop strong links with the Departments of Engineering, Physics and Mathematics.</span></div>
