The Collaborative Program in Sensory Networks seeks four (4)
Postdoctoral Research Fellow/ Research Fellows for projects spanning
optical physics and neuroscience. Our program, spanning the labs of
Professor Danielle Bassett (Dept. of Bioengineering, University of
Pennsylvania), Professor Halina Rubinsztein-Dunlop (School of Maths and
Physics, University of Queensland), and A. Prof. Ethan Scott (Queensland
Brain Institute, University of Queensland), seeks to understand the
local circuits and brain-wide networks that mediate sensory processing
and integration in the zebrafish model system. This involves the design
and construction of custom light-sheet microscopes, whole-brain calcium
imaging at cellular resolution, and light sculpting for targeted
optogenetic manipulations in vivo. For more information, please visit
our group <a href="https://qbi.uq.edu.au/scottgroup">website</a>.

<p align="left">A PhD in engineering, physics, neuroscience,
mathematics, or relevant related fields in addition to expertise and a
strong track record in optical physics/engineering, neuroscience,
calcium imaging, image analysis, or the mathematical modelling of
complex systems, is essential to the role.</p>
<p align="left">A strong desire to develop new ideas and research
directions, aimed towards making high-impact findings and developing a
research career will see you excel in this role.</p>
<p>Our ideal candidate will also possess excellent verbal and written
communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and
collaboratively. Experience with coding in Matlab, Python, or other
related languages would be desirable.</p>
