<div dir="ltr">MSE@STAF 2018<br>=======================================================================<br><br>CALL FOR PAPERS<br><br>3rd International Workshop on Microservices: Science and Engineering - MSE 2018 <br><br>June 25, 2018<br><br>ENSEEIHT – IRIT, Toulouse Cedex - France<br><br><a href="http://mse-staf18.fbk.eu/">http://mse-staf18.fbk.eu/</a><br><br>=======================================================================<br><br>AIMS AND MOTIVATION<br><br>This workshop aims at bringing together contributions by scientists and practitioners to shed light on the development of scientific concepts, technologies, engineering techniques and tools for a service-based society. In particular, the focus is on Microservices, i.e., the use of services beyond the traditional cross-organizational B2B approach and the implementation of the model inside of applications, scaling in the small the concepts previously seen in the large. In Microservices, each component of a software is a service with the related issues of scalability and distribution of responsibility.<br><br>Topics of interest include (but not limited to):<br><br>- Design and implementation of Service-oriented Architectures and Microservices<br>- Software engineering techniques for Microservices<br>- Requirements Engineering for Microservices<br>- Model-Driven Engineering for Microservices<br>- Security in Microservices<br>- Formal models and analyses of Microservice systems<br>- Validation and Verification techniques for Microservices<br>- Coordination models for Microservices<br>- Empirical studies on services and Microservices<br>- Programming languages for Microservices<br>- Static analysis of Microservices<br>- Testing of Microservice systems<br>- Migration to Microservices<br>- Adaptation and Evolution of Microservices<br><br><br>SCOPE<br><br>This workshop constitutes a forum for scientists and engineers in academia and industry to present and discuss their latest ongoing research as well as radical new research directions that represent challenging innovations, which can advance the status quo and the understanding in the Microservices area and its applications, in particular in the IoT and IoS where the scaling in the small approach is of major importance. We believe that STAF attendees might be interested in attending this workshop because of the relevance of its themes and goals to the Software Engineering (SE) and Formal Methods (FM). Also, industry partners and mobile developers are particularly welcome, thanks to their more practical approach, hopefully bringing some real scenario examples.<br>IMPORTANT DATES<br><br>Abstract submission: April 16, 2018<br><br>Workshop paper submission: April 23, 2018<br><br>Workshop paper notification: May 25, 2018<br><br>Workshop: June 25, 2018<br><br><br><br>INTENDED PAPER FORMAT<br><br>The workshop welcomes research papers, experience papers and tool presentations; nevertheless, papers describing novel research contributions and innovative applications are of particular interest. Contributions can be:<br><br>* Regular papers (maximum 15 pages): In this category fall those contributions which propose novel research contributions, address challenging problems with innovative ideas, or offer practical contributions in the application of FM and SE approaches for building future applications in the field of Microservices. Regular papers should clearly describe the situation or problem tackled, the relevant state of the art, the position or solution suggested and the potential benefits of the contribution.<br>* Short papers (maximum 8 pages): This category includes tool demonstrations, position papers, industrial experiences and case-studies, well-pondered and sufficiently documented visionary papers. Authors of papers reporting industrial experiences are strongly encouraged to make their experimental results available for use by reviewers. Similarly, case-study papers should describe significant case-studies and the complete development should be made available for use by reviewers. Tool demonstration papers should explain enhancements made in comparison to previously published work. Authors of demonstration papers should make their tool available for use by reviewers.<br><br><br>SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS and REVIEW CRITERIA<br><br>We seek for both regular and short papers. Papers will be submitted as PDF files, using the SPRINGER LNCS proceedings format (see <a href="http://www.springer.com/computer/lncs?SGWID=0-164-6-793341-0">http://www.springer.com/computer/lncs?SGWID=0-164-6-793341-0</a>), with a page limit of 15 pages. Short paper should be limited to 8 pages.<br><br>Accepted papers of the MSE workshop will be published in a LNCS post-proceedings edited by the STAF Workshop co-chairs. <br><br>You can submit the paper through EasyChair using this link:<br><br><a href="https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=mse20180">https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=mse20180</a><br><br><br><br><br><br>WORKSHOP O
