The lab is located at the Division of Physiology, Institute of Basic Medical Sciences (</span><span class="caps">IMB</span><span style="background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255);" class="">), at the University of Oslo. The project is funded by a Starting Grant

<span style="line-height: 1.5; -webkit-text-stroke-width: initial;" class="">We are searching for highly motivated candidates with a strong interest in cortical circuits. We aim at determining cortical circuit functions in behaving animals and study the contribution
of specific neuron types. The candidate will use in-vivo two-photon imaging and electrophysiology techniques to record neuronal activity, and use optogenetics to identify cell-specific contributions to cortex function.</span></p>

<strong style="font-style: inherit;" class="">Qualifications</strong><br class="">
Highly motivated students with a degree in neuroscience, biology, medicine, computer science, physics or engineering are encouraged to apply. Ideally, the applicants have basic experience with some of the following disciplines; Electrophysiology, microscopy,
optogenetics or computational neuroscience. The candidates should be handy and be comfortable to work with rodents. Good programming skills (eg. Matlab/LabVIEW), being critical, and being a team player, are all a big plus. The candidate should be able to work
independently and structured, while at the same time engage in close collaborations. Applicants must hold an MSc or M.D. degree.</p>
