The research project is funded by the NWO Top grant "Learning from Corruption". It focuses on the development of new machine-learning techniques, and on applications of these techniques to domains such as computer vision and natural language understanding. In particular, the research will focus on new approaches for the regularisation of machine-learning models using an approach called marginalised corrupted features.</p><p style="margin: 1em 0px; font-family: Tahoma, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 16px;">Your task in the project will be to develop and investigate new machine-learning techniques and to apply these techniques to areas such as computer vision, natural language understanding, or bioinformatics problems.</p><p style="margin: 1em 0px; font-family: Tahoma, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 16px;"><b>Requirements</b><br>You have obtained an MSc or equivalent degree or expect to obtain one very soon. Our focus is on analysing and interpreting multidimensional data using machine-learning approaches to solve problems in various domains, including art history, bioinformatics, social psychology, consumer science, and medicine.
