<div dir="ltr">Dear Connectionists,<br><div class="gmail_quote"><div dir="ltr"><div><br></div><div>The journal <i>Connection Science</i> (<a href="http://www.tandfonline.com/loi/ccos" target="_blank">http://www.tandfonline.com/loi/ccos</a>), one of the longest running journals in field of connectionist research, has a revised aims and scope, a new editor-in-chief, and a substantially revised editorial board. In addition to research articles the journal is also interested in publishing special issues, and review, perspective, and roadmap articles in topics relevant to the revised themes. <div><br></div><div><div><b>Revised Aims and Scope</b></div><div>Connection Science is an inter-disciplinary journal dedicated to exploring the convergence of the analytic and synthetic sciences of mind including psychology, neuroscience, philosophy, linguistics, cognitive science, computational modelling, artificial intelligence, analog and parallel computing, and robotics.</div>
<div>A strong focus is on the simulation of living systems and their societies, including humans, and on the development of novel forms of synthetic life such as biomimetic robots. Articles arising from connectionist, probabilistic, dynamical, or evolutionary approaches, and that explore distributed adaptive computation or emergent order, are particularly relevant. The journal also encourages submission of research in systems-level computational neuroscience that seeks to understand sensorimotor integration, perception, cognition, or awareness in brain-like model systems.</div>
<div>Manuscripts that employ empirical methodologies or that explore social, theoretical or philosophical issues will be considered where there is a clear relevance to the synthetic approach and/or its societal impacts. Review, road-mapping, or perspective papers are welcome; authors are advised to consult the Editor-in-Chief if considering a submission of this nature.<br>
