Connectionists: Postdoc in Machine Learning at Penn State

The College of Information Sciences and Technology at The Pennsylvania State University is accepting applications for a two-year, full-time
postdoctoral position to start October 1, 2019. The candidate will support a Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA)-funded effort
to develop synthetic prediction markets for assigning confidence scores to findings in the social science literatures. Fundamental work will
include innovations in information retrieval, dynamical systems, and machine learning. A PhD in math, computer science, engineering or related
discipline is required. Experience in information retrieval, big data, and machine learning is preferred. Demonstrated interest in the social
and behavioral sciences is welcome. Research will be primarily advised by Dr. Lee Giles. The successful candidate will work closely with
faculty and graduate students from Penn State, Texas A&M, Rutgers University and Old Dominion University on this large program.
