Connectionists: PhD in Event-based Vision at Bosch Center for Artificial Intelligence

At the Bosch Center for Artificial Intelligence (BCAI, see 
www.bosch-ai.com) in Renningen near Stuttgart, Germany we have an open 
position for a PhD in Event-based Vision for Automated Driving. The PhD 
will work in the context of the European project ULPEC 
(www.ulpecproject.eu), together with academic and industrial partners 
from around Europe. At BCAI, the PhD will be part of a research team 
with focus on Deep Learning perception in the context of automated driving.

Description:

  * Development and implementation of novel object detection and
    tracking algorithms to process event-based vision data
  * Research on spiking neural network architectures and training algorithms
  * Original research, collaboration in the European project ULPEC with
    Machine Learning and hardware experts
  * Publications in top-tier journals and supervision of Master students


Requirements:

  * Master of Science in computer science, mathematics, computational
    neuroscience or related fields
  * Profound knowledge of Machine Learning, preferably Deep Learning,
    and basic knowledge of computer vision
  * Knowledge of spiking neural networks and neuromorphic engineering is
    preferred but not required
  * Proven programming skills, in particular Python and/or C++
  * Strong team player and ability to work in interdisciplinary teams
  * Strong English skills
