Due to the impending NIPS deadline, the deadline for abstract submission
has bee n extended to May 26!

Towards a mechanistic interpretation of neural data

NCCD17 is the third in a series of meetings focusing on topics in
theoretical an d experimental neuroscience.

Techniques for recording and manipulating large-scale neural activity in
awake b ehaving animals are developing at an accelerating pace.
Identifying the principl es of neural processing requires a mechanistic
interpretation of the large amoun ts of collected data. The aim of this
workshop is to make progress in that direc tion by bringing together
three different communities: (i) experimentalists perf orming
large-scale recordings in behaving animals; (ii) modelers specialized in
statistical data-analysis; (iii) theorists working with mechanistic
network mode ls. We are looking for talks that build bridges across
these different approache s.

As with previous workshops, our goal is to foster the strong
interactions we bel ieve are so important for this field. So the meeting
will be small (~70 people).

Venue:
Casino de Capbreton, Capbreton, France.

May 26: abstract submission deadline
