Connectionists: One year Post-Doc position on Neuromorphic Engineering

The Neuromorphic group at the Sevilla Microelectronics Insitute has an 
opening for a
one year Post-Doc position to work in a project that combines 
Nanotechnology principles
with conventional digital electronics. The core of the project exploits 
Event-Based vision
sensing and processing using AER (Address Event Representation) for 
object recognition
and scene analysis, bridging with potential new nanotechnology devices 
for addressing
compact learning schemes (such as STDP -  spike timing dependent 
plasticity).
The successful candidate would work with FPGAs, DVS (Dynamic Vision 
Sensor) retina chips,
AER convolution modules and SpiNNaker systems.
Gross salary is 32k euros per year. Taxes for this salary in Spain are 
around 24% (can be lower,
depending on personal conditions). Although this position is for one 
year only, there are possibilities
for continuation through other similar projects, depending on the 
candidate's interests.
