INCF is an independent international organization created in 2005 through the Global Science Forum of OECD (Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development) to further the development of a global neuroinformatics capability with regard to databases, tool development and modeling. The INCF has rapidly acquired a prominent role in developing and coordinating neuroinformatics worldwide. INCF has 15 member countries, from Asia, Europe, and North America. The Executive Director acts as the chief executive officer of the INCF. The INCF Secretariat is located at the Karolinska Institute Campus in Stockholm and is made up of the Executive Director, Deputy Executive Director and a current staff of 11 individuals. The Secretariat interacts directly with the national neuroinformatics nodes hosted by the individual member countries. Detailed information about INCF and its governing board – strategic overview, focus areas and reports - are to be found at the INCF portal (www.incf.org).
