Postdoctoral Position Available
Syracuse University

Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral position in the
lab of Dr. Marc Howard at Syracuse University
(http://memory.syr.edu).

The successful applicant will participate on research of
mutual interest related to the modeling of episodic and/or
semantic memory. Possible projects include, but are not
limited to, learning semantic spaces with contextual models
of episodic memory, cognitive modeling of human episodic
memory data, and modeling of a detailed neural
implementation of a distributed memory model. Papers
describing work performed in the lab can be found at
http://memory.syr.edu/publications.html.

The lab is affiliated with both the Department of Psychology
and the Department of Biomedical and Chemical Engineering,
as well as the Syracuse Neuroscience Organization
(http://sno.syr.edu), leading to a diverse and collaborative
intellectual environment. The lab has access to extensive
computing resources, including a Beowulf cluster housed in
the Center for Policy Research.

Applicants should have, or be about to receive, a Ph.D. in a
relevant discipline with substantial
mathematical/computational experience. Some degree of
comfort working in Linux is essential. Familiarity with
human memory is helpful; a strong interest in learning is
essential.

To apply, interested individuals should email a curriculum
vitae (dvi or pdf files only), a brief statement of research
interests, and the names of three references to Dr. Marc
Howard at marc AT memory DOT syr DOT edu. Informal
inquiries welcome.
