Connectionists: two cognitive faculty positions at CU Boulder

The University of Colorado Boulder has two cognitive faculty searches
this year -- one in Psychology and one in the Institute of Cognitive
Science.  Both searches have interest in candidates using computational
approaches.

The Department of Psychology, University of Colorado, Boulder, invites
applications for a tenure-track position in cognitive psychology
beginning August 2006.  The department anticipates hiring at the
assistant professor level.  The University of Colorado, Boulder, is

Candidates in any area of cognitive psychology will be considered.
Special consideration will be given to candidates whose research
interests include cognitive neuroscience, development, language,
higher-order cognition, or object perception.  The successful
candidate will be expected to teach at the undergraduate and graduate
levels, to supervise undergraduate and graduate students in research,
and to maintain an active research program.  Salary is competitive and
dependent upon experience.

Cognitive Scientist/Psychologist, tenure track position

The Institute of Cognitive Science at the University of Colorado
invites applications for a full-time tenure-track position at the
assistant professor level, with a starting date of Fall 2006. The
Institute, is a multidisciplinary unit with representation from the
departments of Psychology; Computer Science; Education; Linguistics;
Speech, Language & Hearing Sciences; Philosophy;, and Architecture &
Planning.

Because the individual hired for this Institute position will have an
academic appointment within the Department of Psychology, we seek
applicants with a strong record of research that integrates Cognitive
Science with cognitive processes including, but not limited to,
judgment and decision-making, language and discourse processes,
learning and memory, object processing, or higher-order cognition.
Candidates taking a developmental, neuroscience, computational, or
experimental approach are all welcome.

We will give strongest consideration to applicants whose work
demonstrates an ability and commitment to interdisciplinary research.
Duties include graduate and undergraduate teaching, research, research
