Postdoctoral Positions at California Institute of Technology

Applications are invited for multiple postdoctoral fellowships to
study the neural basis of reward, valuation, and decision-making
utilizing functional brain imaging at the California Institute of
Technology. These fellowships are funded by the David and Lucile
Packard Foundation and the Moore Foundation and are part of a new
interdisciplinary project at Caltech that brings together experimental
economists, cognitive neuroscientists, behavioral biologists, and
others to investigate the neural basis of social cognition and
decision-making, with particular emphasis on economic and moral
behavior. Research will take place in a new imaging center at Caltech
that houses a Siemens 3T whole body scanner, a vertical monkey
scanner, and a small animal high field scanner. There is also the
opportunity for interaction with computational neuroscience research
on decision-making.

Applicants with a Ph.D. in neuroscience, cognitive science, computer
science/engineering, or social science are encouraged to apply. A
background in functional brain imaging is desirable, but other
backgrounds will also be considered. Review of applications will
start immediately and continue until the positions are filled. They
will be supervised by Drs. Steven Quartz, John Allman, David Grether,
and Colin Camerer. Interested individuals should send a statement of
research interests and background, CV, and names for 3 letters of
recommendation either via email to steve at hss.caltech.edu or via snail
mail to: Dr. Steven Quartz, MC 228-77, California Institute of
Technology, Pasadena, CA 91125.
