Dear colleague,

The Netherlands Institute for Brain Research and the
Netherlands Ophthalmic Research Institute are
organizing this year the 23rd International Summer School of
Brain Research from August 25-29, 2003, in Amsterdam.
The program is dedicated to the theme:

Development, dynamics and pathology of neuronal networks:
from molecules to functional
circuits.

The Summer School will focus on key mechanisms in the
development of neurons into circuits with
functional dynamics, and will link the dynamics in neural
circuits with cognitive / behavioral processes.
In this respect we wish to emphasize (1) molecular and
cell-biological mechanisms of neuronal
network development and plasticity, (2) understanding
activity in neuronal networks in relation to their
structure, and (3) understanding normal and deficient neural
circuitry at the cognitive and behavioral
level.

The Summer School aims at providing a forum for discussing
broad views as well as latest
developments on the above topics. The lectures are presented
by internationally renowned scientists.
The target groups are PhD students, postdoctoral fellows,
senior researchers and clinicians.

Please visit the Summer School website
http://www.nih.knaw.nl/summerschool for information and
registration.

Best regards,
