Dear Colleagues,

It is my pleasure to announce the availability of my book

Fundamentals of Computational Neuroscience, Oxford University Press, ISBN
0-19-851583-9
(see http://www.oup.co.uk/isbn/0-19-851583-9)

This book contains introductory reviews from the basic mechanisms of single
neurons to system level organizations in the brain. The emphasis is thereby
on the relation of simplified models of single neurons and neuronal networks
to the information processing in the brain. I hope that this will be useful
for students who are seeking some introduction to this area, as well as to
those wondering about the relation of abstract neural networks to
information processing in the brain.

The book can be order in Europe through the Oxford University Press web site
at <http://www.oup.co.uk/isbn/0-19-851583-9>. The web catalogs of the other
OUP divisions (<http://www.oup.com>) will be updated soon. Meanwhile you can
order the book by calling the OUP representative in your area, and, of
course, use other well-known sources (e.g.
050243>).

I will make some teaching material available through my web site
(<http://www.cs.dal.ca/~tt/fcns>), and hope for your suggestions and
comments.

Sincerely,

Thomas Trappenberg
