The objective of this workshop is to bring together researchers from
cognitive science, psychology, robotics, artificial intelligence,
philosophy, and related fields to discuss the role of developmental
and embodied views of cognition, and in particular, their mutual
relationships. The ultimate goal of this approach is to understand the
emergence of high-level cognition in organisms bases on their
interactions with their environment over extended periods of time.

The workshop will be held at the University of Edinburgh on July 31st
2001, one day before the 23rd Annual Meeting of the Cognitive Science
Society.

The workshop will consist of invited talks, followed by a poster
session with contributed papers.

College, London, UK)
Max Lungarella and Rolf Pfeifer (AI-Laboratory, University of Zuerich,

Lorenzo Natale (Lira-Lab, University of Genoa, Italy)
Linda Smith (Department of Psychology, Indiana University, Bloomington,
IN, USA)
