	   Assistant, Associate & Full Professor Positions

Innovative and growing computer science program has multiple openings
for tenure-track faculty. The Computing & Software Systems (CSS)
program at the University of Washington, Bothell (UWB) offers
opportunities to:

* Establish new research programs, participate in the on-going
  research efforts, and/or collaborate with local high-tech companies;
* Teach state-of-the-art, interdisciplinary computing courses;
* Expand program options for undergraduates (e.g., embedded systems,
  graphics design); and
* Participate in designing a new Master's degree program in CSS.

Well-qualified candidates in all related areas, including but not
limited to databases, networking, distributed systems, and web
technology, are encouraged to apply.

The CSS Program, in its fifth year of existence, emphasizes and
rewards interdisciplinary scholarship and a balance between teaching,
research and service. Current research interests include:
biocomputing, embedded systems, computer graphics, digital multimedia
in distributed environments, HCI, and software engineering. Successful
candidates will have the options of participating in these areas
and/or establishing new research programs. The undergraduate degree
program stresses development of competencies associated with life-long
learning, critical thinking, problem solving, communication and
management -- as well as contemporary programming and technical
skills. Situated in the midst of the Northwest's technology corridor,
the fastest growing information technology region in the country, UWB
offers opportunities for collaborative work with industry. The
University of Washington, Bothell is part of the three-campus
University of Washington -- one of the premier institutions of higher
education in the U.S.

QUALIFICATIONS AND DUTIES
Candidates will have a doctorate (required prior to date of
appointment) in a relevant field. Successful candidates will be
expected to teach a variety of courses, conduct scholarly research,
and contribute to program and institution building in this innovative,
interdisciplinary environment. Faculty are also expected to advise
students during their internship with industry/community partners. A
determination of rank and tenure at the assistant, associate or full
