Two Postdoctoral positions available in Neuroscience

Applications are invited for two postdoctoral scientists to join a group
of systems neuroscientists within the Laboratory of Cognitive and
Developmental Neuroscience investigating how the brain encodes visual and
olfactory cues associated with recognition or both social and non-social
objects. Current research employs behavioural, computational,
neurophysiological (including multi-array electrophysiological
recording) and functional neuroanatomical approaches using rodent and
sheep models.

Behavioural Neuroscientist/In vivo Electrophysiologist (Ref. KK/EP/3)

Applications are invited for a post-doctoral scientist to work on a BBSRC
funded grant investigating both behavioural and neurophysiological aspects
of face perception and imagery in sheep. Candidates must either be
experienced in behavioural assessments of perception/learning in animals
or with in vivo electrophysiological recording methods. Training in
aspects of behavioural or electrophysiological methodologies required, but
not covered by the applicant’s previous experience, will be provided by
existing members of the group. Experience with computational analysis of
complex data would be an advantage. The appointment is for 3 years in the
first instance.

Computational Neuroscientist (Ref. JF/P/2)

This post is available initially for 5 years. It would suit an individual
with experience in computational analysis and modelling of sensory system
functioning and will mainly involve utilisation of electrophysiological
data from multi-array recording experiments. The individual would also be
expected to work closely with electrophysiologists both within the group
and the USA and to co-ordinate with other UK-based Computational
Neuroscientists involved with the projects. The group already has
excellent computational facilities to deal with the large amounts data
associated multi-array recording experiments
