Staff Scientist
Duties/Job Description: The individual will work with a highly motivated and
talented group of scientists and engineers responsible for development of
neural network-based predictive models for Falcon payment card fraud
product. Falcon currently protects more than 300 million payment cards
against fraudulent use around the world in five continents. Forty out of top
fifty U.S. banks and sixteen out of top twenty-five international banks
currently use Falcon.
Job responsibilities include designing and building predictive models for
payment card fraud detection based on the latest technologies in neural
networks, pattern recognition, artificial intelligence, statistical
modeling, and machine learning.  Specific responsibilities may vary by
project, but will include analyzing huge amount of data to determine
suitability for modeling, pattern identification and feature (variable)
selection from large amounts of data, experimenting with different types of
models, analyzing performance, and reporting results to customers. (Comment:

Required Qualifications (Experience/Skills): MS or Ph.D. in Computer
Science, Electrical Engineering, Applied Statistics/Mathematics or related
fields.  Minimum two years of experience in pattern recognition,
mathematical/statistical modeling, or data analysis on real world problems.
Familiarity with the latest modeling techniques and tools.  Good oral and
written communication skills.  Team orientation and at the same time the
ability to work independently. Ability to interact well with both co-workers
and customers. Strong programming skills desired.  (Comment: same as above)
Proficiency in C and UNIX, and familiarity with some analysis tools, e.g.,
MATLAB, SAS, etc. desirable.
	
Preferred Qualifications (Experience/Skills): Strong mathematical appetite,
problem solving and computer skills (C or C++ or Java). Good UNIX scripting
and rapid prototyping skill.  Quick learner.  Good team player. Experience
in designing systems based on neural networks, pattern recognition and/or
statistical modeling techniques for the financial, health care, marketing,
or other real world applications. Object oriented software design
familiarity.
