Faculty Jobs - Sheffield

The University of Sheffield Department of Computer Science has two
faculty positions (lectureships), to start asap. We are looking for
outstanding researchers in any area of CS, with a willingness to do
some undergraduate teaching outside their area of research.

Appointees in the area of Machine Learning may join a new group
of four faculty:  Joab Winkler (works in Wavelets), Thia Kirubarajan
(works in tracking, currently at UCONN, joining us in September),
Si Wu (works in Pattern Recognition, currently at RIKEN, joining
us in September) and myself. I am keen to encourage applicants who are
good in probabilistic modelling with interest in difficult real world
problems such as signal processing or computational biology.
