Research in Neural Computing

PhD in Neural Computing at Aston University, Birmingham, UK

PhD programmes are available on either a full-time or part-time basis. Most
full-time students start in October each year and take the taught modules
from the MSc in Pattern Analysis and Neural Networks during the first term.

MSc by Research in Pattern Analysis and Neural Networks

The MSc comprises a substantial 9 month research project, taught modules in
Artificial Neural Networks, Statistical Pattern Analysis, Algorithms &
Computational Mathematics, Time Series & Signal Processing, Data
Visualisation & Density Modelling, & Research Methodology, computer lab.
sessions & tutorials. The course emphasises the advantages of a principled
approach to data analysis. There are strong commercial & industrial links
through research projects & bursaries, & employment prospects for graduates
are good.

Funding

Full studentships (for eligible students, please check EPS), paying tuition
fees and living
expenses, are available for both research programmes. Funding is provided
by the EPSRC (http://www.epsrc.ac.uk/) and industrial sponsors and is
awarded by the Research Group on a competitive basis. Applications from
self-funded students are also very welcome.
