WORKSHOP ON NEURAL NETWORKS: FROM BIOLOGY TO HARDWARE IMPLEMENTATIONS

The Workshop, cross-disciplinary in character, will be focused mostly on
the following topics:

- the dynamical interpretation of cross correlations
- what can be extracted from information theory analysis of spike trains
- the potentialities of multiple recordings
- the role of the timing of the spikes
- the role of hardware implementations in the context of biological modelling

the planned schedule is meant to be 'discussion oriented',
and will be approximately as follows:

two invited talks per session, followed by a discussion

a set of poster contributions for each session, also followed by a
discussion.

contributed papers will only be accepted as posters; all accepted contributions
will be published in the proceedings volume.


The registration fee is 220 US$, to be paid upon arrival.

A limited number of fellowships will be available for
participants coming from Countries belonging to the European Union
or Israel.


Chia is a beatiful place at the Southern tip of Sardinia,
It is a drive of about 1 h from Cagliari airport, which has connecting
flights from/to Rome, Florence etc.
A bus transportation from Cagliari airport to the Workshop venue
will be organized.
