	       Simulation of Adaptive Behavior (SAB96)

The objective of this conference is to bring together researchers in
ethology, psychology, ecology, artificial intelligence, artificial
life, robotics, and related fields so as to further our understanding
of the behaviors and underlying mechanisms that allow natural and
artificial animals to adapt and survive in uncertain environments.

The conference will consist of a single track of invited speakers,
refereed presentations and posters, and demonstrations. 
The invited speakers are James Albus, Jelle Atema, Daniel Dennett, 
Randy Gallistel, Scott Kelso, and David Touretzky.

EARLY REGISTRATION DEADLINE IS JUNE 30, 1996
Regular $350; Discounts for early registration, students and members
of the International Society for Adaptive Behavior.

***************************HOTEL****************************************
HOTEL DEADLINE FOR BLOCKED ROOMS IS AUGUST 8TH
The entire conference will take place at the Sea Crest in North
Falmouth on Cape Cod.  All participants are responsible for making
their own reservations with the hotel.

************************STUDENT TRAVEL GRANTS****************************
APPLICATION DEADLINE: JUNE 24th
Thanks to funding from the Office of Naval Research and the Bauer
Foundation, we will be able to assist about 15 students by lowering
their costs for attending the conference.  $400 scholarships will be
available for the selected North American students, and $600
scholarships for selected overseas students.
