CPGs

At the just completed Snowbird meeting on neural networks, several
participants asked for more information on biological central pattern
generators (CPGs). I recommend a book titled "Model Neural Networks and
Behavior" edited by Al Selverston published by Plenum Press in 1985. For
those that don't know, CPGs as a class probably represent the most completely
described real biological networks in terms of their anatomy, physiology,
and, importantly, the behavior they control. As such they are well worth
 knowing about.
