<br>The International Performance, Computing, and Communications Conference (IPCCC) is<br>the premier IEEE conference presenting research in the performance of computer and<br>communication systems. For more than two decades, IPCCC has been a research forum <br>
for academic, industrial, and government researchers. <br> <br>PURPOSE AND SCOPE <br> <br>The theme of IPCCC 2008 is ˇ°Computing for Emerging Networked Systemsˇ±. To capture<br>the recent exciting innovations in the system research, IPCCC 2008 will explore and<br>
articulate (i) the challenges and opportunities as parallel and distributed systems<br>are scaling large and networked over the internet; (ii) the challenges and opportunities <br>as multicore processors are becoming the mainstream desktop processors and networked <br>
onchip; (iii) the challenges and opportunities as embedded systems are becoming <br>ubiquitous and networked through wireless communication. <br> <br>We encourage submission of high-quality papers that address the thematic topics as <br>
well as other topics in theoretical and experimental areas of system research. </div>
<div>Topics of interest include, but are not limited to, the following:<br> <br> Grid and cloud computing<br> Internet Services and Network Management<br> Network protocols<br> Network Information Assurance, and Security<br>
<br> Multi- and single- core processor architecture<br> Cache, Memory, and Disk Storage Systems <br> Workload Characterization and its Impact on Architecture Design<br> Embedded Systems<br> Ubiquitous computing</div>
<div> Mobile ad hoc, Sensor and Mesh Networks<br> Parallel and Distributed Systems<br> Performance Evaluation and Modeling<br> Performance Tools and Techniques<br> <br>In addition, proposals for panel sessions and workshops on relevant topics are welcome. <br>

<div>SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS<br> <br>Submitted manuscripts must have at least 11-point font size, and should not exceed 12 <br>pages formatted in IEEE conference style, including the abstract, figures, and <br>references. Authors should obtain company and government clearances prior to submission <br>
of papers.<br> <br>All papers will be reviewed by the program committee. They will be judged with respect <br>to their quality, originality, and relevance. All accepted papers will be published in <br>the conference proceedings, conditional upon the author's advance registration. Note <br>
that one full (non-student) registration fee must be paid for each paper published in <br>the proceedings, and that submission of a paper entails a professional obligation to <br>attend and present your paper at the conference if it is accepted.<br>
