<p class="MsoNormal" style="BACKGROUND: white; MARGIN: 0pt; TEXT-ALIGN: justify"><font face="Times New Roman">Neural networks are being used for processing speech, audio, image and biomedical signals for many years. Some of the applications in speech processing where neural networks are extensively used include speech recognition, speaker recognition, speech enhancement, speech coding and speech synthesis. In audio processing, neural networks are used for speech/music classification, audio classification and audio indexing and retrieval. Edge extraction, texture classification, face recognition, character recognition, finger print identification, image enhancement and image coding are some of the applications of neural networks in image processing. Neural networks are also used for the identification of biomedical signals, different diseases, medical image processing and ECG signal processing. The articles related to the applications of neural networks in speech, audio, image and biomedical signal processing are spread in the literature across different journals, conference proceedings and books. The objective of this book is to provide a common platform for all the researchers working in the above mentioned areas to consolidate their research findings in the form of book chapters. Review articles on the usefulness of neural networks in the above mentioned signal processing areas are also planned to be included in this book. The proposed book is aimed to serve the research community mainly in the following ways:
