From cl at cmu.edu Sun Jul 2 14:40:35 2023 From: cl at cmu.edu (Christian Lebiere) Date: Sun, 2 Jul 2023 14:40:35 -0400 Subject: [ACT-R-users] 2023 AAAI Fall Symposium on Integration of Cognitive Architectures and Generative Models Message-ID: We are pleased to announce the 2023 AAAI Fall Symposium on Integration of Cognitive Architectures and Generative Models October 25-27: Westin Arlington Gateway, Arlington, Virginia, USA. This symposium aims to explore possible integrations of cognitive architectures and generative models, two very different approaches for developing general embodied intelligent agents with possibly complementary strengths and weaknesses. An important goal is to understand the strengths, weaknesses, trade-offs, and challenges among alternative approaches to integration, as well as potential directions for future research. We hope to include a broad range of researchers whose interests span cognitive architectures and generative models. This workshop will explore some AI approaches to developing scientific models, particularly considering applications in psychology and social science. This area is relatively unexplored, and presents some unique challenges, particularly as models must address both the less-than-perfect accuracy of human behavior as well as capture this behaviour in time-bound environments. We will provide an introduction and case-studies in this area and deliver a tutorial on GEMS, our own system of scientific discovery. Chairs: Dr. Peter Lane and Prof. Fernand Gobet. (All enquiries to Peter Lane at p.c.lane at herts.ac.uk). There may be an opportunity to present at the workshop - please contact the organizers if you are interested with a tentative title and abstract. **************************************************************** 5) Integration of Cog Archs and Generative Models, AAAI Fall Symposium, 25-27 Oct https://nam10.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Faaai.org%2Fconference%2Ffall-symposia%2Faaai-2023-fall-symposium-series%2F&data=05%7C01%7Ciccm-l%40lists.psu.edu%7Cc44fceb0a5da4719ea1408db86a533d8%7C7cf48d453ddb4389a9c1c115526eb52e%7C0%7C0%7C638251816316316281%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C3000%7C%7C%7C&sdata=E7Tjgo5QmtDQCXf8n%2BHs2e8JYb%2FkX4o9NIvhNzNHaUU%3D&reserved=0 We are pleased to announce the 2023 AAAI Fall Symposium on Integration of Cognitive Architectures and Generative Models October 25-27: Westin Arlington Gateway, Arlington, Virginia, USA. There are very few changes in the operation of ACT-R, and you can find the details in my slides from the workshop: http://act-r.psy.cmu.edu/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/bothell_ACTR_workshop_2023.pdf The most significant change is to the macOS version of the standalone application. That now includes applications that are compiled for both Intel and Apple silicon processors, and the scripts to run it will pick the appropriate version. That should be a lot faster than the previous versions that had to run under Rosetta on the new processors. The version for Apple silicon also uses SBCL instead of CCL (which is still used for the Intel version). I've turned off some of the SBCL warnings and updated the tutorial code so that things should look the same regardless of which version you're using. If you have any questions or problems with this version let me know. Dan -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:
