We have a renewed opportunity for a post-doc position available at
CMU in the Synthetic Student Model project. The goal of the project
is to create synthetic student models in the ACT-R architecture that
can predict the outcome of instructional manipulations. The
post-doctoral responsibilities will involve some opportunistic
combination of modeling and empirical research (behavioral and fMRI
imaging).

Responsibilities of the postdoctoral researcher include experiment
design and supervision, data analysis, development of cognitive
models, and manuscript preparation and presentation. Requirements
include a Ph.D. in cognitive science, computer science or psychology
with cognitive modeling experience, preferably but not exclusively
using the ACT-R cognitive architecture, and research interests in
high-level cognition and human-computer interaction.
