From chinn+ at CMU.EDU Sun Mar 5 09:23:02 1995 From: chinn+ at CMU.EDU (David Chinn) Date: Sun, 5 Mar 1995 09:23:02 -0500 (EST) Subject: ACT is on the Web! Message-ID: As you will see in the announcement below, we have established a prescence on the Web. Of particular interest to ACT-R researchers will be the searchable archive of this mailing list, the on-line ACT-R documentation, and the links to the downloadable versions of the software. We would like to establish links to others working with ACT-R, so if you have a Web page, please let me know so that I can link you in, or we would be happy to create a page describing work that you have done with ACT-R and keep it on our site. Of course I would welcome comments, suggestions and criticisms of our web site, so please let me know what you think. NOTE: We have a new ftp site for our software. This site is on the main CMU machines, so it should be less affected by backup schedules, etc. than Largo. Its location is: ftp://ftp.andrew.cmu.edu/pub/act-r/ftp/ (i.e. log-in to ftp.andrew.cmu.edu as anonymous and change to the directory /pub/act-r/ftp) ========================================================================== ACT Research Group Web site The ACT Research Group at Carnegie Mellon University is proud to announce that it is now on the Web. We can be found at: The site contains information about our research on the ACT Architecture of Cognition. There are links to the software for running cognitive models in ACT and you can read the manual on-line. There are home pages for members of the group and some of their papers. There is also information on the Advanced Computer Tutoring Project and the new Pittsburgh Area Cognitive Tutoring Center. You can learn about our intelligent computer tutors that are being used to teach 9th grade algebra in the Pittsburgh Public School System. ========================================================================== From chinn+ at CMU.EDU Tue Mar 7 08:14:36 1995 From: chinn+ at CMU.EDU (David Chinn) Date: Tue, 7 Mar 1995 08:14:36 -0500 (EST) Subject: ACT Web site back up Message-ID: Apologies to everyone who tried to connect to the ACT Web site and failed. The bug has now been fixed and you should be able to connect. Thanks to those of you who informed me of the connection problems. New stuff is being added every day, especially papers, so one visit will not be enough!
